- Exploration of Joint Collaboration Strategies for the Development of Core Talent in the Biotechnology Sector -

Yonsei University K-NIBRT Project Group and Gachon University Launch Collaborative Initiative to Advance Biotechnology Innovation and Talent Development.
On January 7, 2026, Yonsei University’s K-NIBRT announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Establishment of an Innovative Platform in the Biotechnology Sector with Gachon University. The agreement aims to strengthen collaborative frameworks by actively sharing and utilizing the educational and research infrastructures of both institutions, while ultimately contributing to the advancement of the national biotechnology industry.
Under this MOU, the two institutions plan to expand collaboration across multiple areas, including:
∙Designing and operating educational programs based on a foundation for nurturing talent in the biotechnology sector
In particular, in connection with Gachon University’s ‘Specialized University Project’, the partnership will implement commissioned training programs designed to cultivate professionals in line with industry needs, and will progressively operate specialized education programs, thereby pursuing practical, results-oriented collaborative initiatives.
Lee Jong-Soo, Vice President of Yonsei University International Campus, stated, "We are honored to establish an innovative system for cultivating talent in the biotechnology sector through our collaboration with Gachon University. Leveraging the capabilities and experience of both institutions, we will continue to produce industry-ready professionals."
Yoon Won-jung, Vice President of Gachon University, stated, "We expect that the combination of Yonsei University K-NIBRT Project Group’s outstanding biotechnology education infrastructure and Gachon University’s research capabilities will generate significant synergy. We also hope that this MOU will serve as a catalyst to further enhance the competitiveness of the domestic biotechnology industry."
